The 2016 Pinot Gris is a bright white straw with green hue. It offers up aromas dominated by lifted ripe pear, white peach, white flowers and green apple. A rich textural palate with a long finish and great balance displaying elements of white flowers, cantaloupe, melon and pear. Minerality comes though on the palate.
Vineyard: Grown on the dry alluvial outwash of our home block in Creston, BC, This Pinot Gris was hand selected from Zone 2 of our estate.
Harvest Data: Fruit was harvested at optimum flavour and ripeness. All the grapes used for this wine are grown using sustainable practices.
Vinification: Fruit was hand harvested at optimum flavour and ripeness. The fruit was destemmed and whole berry pressed to tank for cold settling. 50% of the wine racked to barrel to add texture and fermented with yeast isolates from Alsace . The balance was cool tank fermented to keep the wine with a primary fruit driven profile. Fermented with Alsatian isolates blended, fined and sterile bottled .
Wood Percentage: 100% fermented in 6 year seasoned French fine grained Burgundian barriques used to impart texture, to the wine.
Bottling: The wine was Estate bottled with 440 cases produced.
