2014 Chardonnay

The 2014 Chardonnay is a light pale straw with green hue, complex and steely with a firm spine of minerality. Displays notes of citrus, melon with a mealy and creamy finish. Displays notes of stone fruit, rock melon and concentrated minerality with great length and a firm acid structure.

Fruit: 100% Chardonnay

Judge Ratings: 2014 Vintage Gold in 2017 National Wine Awards of Canada, Scored 91 points ,  2013 Reserve Vintage Gold in 2016 InterVin Awards

Vineyard: Grown on the dry alluvial outwash of our home block in Creston BC, This Chardonnay was selected from Zone 3. The 2012 vintage struck an optimal balance between flavor, ripeness and acidity producing a Chardonnay showing finesse and varietal character.
Harvest Data: Fruit was harvested at optimum flavour and ripeness. All the grapes used for this wine were grown using sustainable practices.
Vinification: Hand harvested fruit and whole bunch pressed with oxidative handling and no use of preservative, the wine was cold settled, then racked to French Oak barriques for fermentaion. Fermented with burgundian isolates with 100% of the wine going through malo-lactic fermentation.
Wood Percentage: 50% new French Burgundian fine-grained oak with the balance being seasoned French oak from Allier and Vosges forests.
Bottling: The wine was Estate bottled with  203 cases produced.

Colour - Light pale straw with a green hue.
Aroma - Complex and steely with a firm spine of minerality, Displays notes of citrus and melon.  Mealy with butterscotch and creamy finish.
Palate - A textural palate with long creamy finish displaying notes of ­stone fruit, rock melon with a concentrated minerality and integrated spice from oak, great length with firm acid structure
