The 2013 Merlot is dark carmine with purple hints, and a nose of dark fruits, cedar and spice. A wine has an elegant integration of the fruit and oak. A soft and warm tannin structure leads through to a rich full palate and a complex lingering finish.
Fruit: 100% Merlot
Judge Ratings: InterVin International Wine Awards BRONZE medal.
Vineyard: Grown exclusively for Baillie Grohman Estate entirerly on our growers Osoyoos vineyard representing the very best of warmer BC vineyards
Harvest: Fruit was harvested at optimum flavour and ripeness. The fruit was left to hang for a considerable length of time to ensure the correct level of ripeness was achieved.
Barrel: 100% matured in tight grained Bordeaux French Oak. 30% new oak with the balance being seasoned oak barriques.
Bottling: The wine was bottled in October 2014. 349 cases produced.
